OU Crystallography Lab

Chemical Crystallography Lab

X-Ray crystallography is an analytical method used to determine the bonding arrangement of atoms in a crystalline solid. The bonding arrangement is determined by an analysis of the diffraction pattern, that is produced when a small crystal of the sample is exposed to an X-ray beam.

This laboratory both provides an analytical service and helps train students in using diffraction methods in their research studies.
